Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming weekend at Mahar Regional School in Orange will be from Thursday, October 16 through Saturday, October 18, 2025. The first event of the weekend is a program in the Kermit Cook Auditorium on Thursday, October 16 starting at 7:30 p.m. at which the homecoming royalty will be introduced by members of the Mahar Key Club. The candidates are Hayden Comeau, Kaylin Hebert, Ella Manson, Mia Santana, Lana Sullivan, Aydon Davis, Brayden Gates, Caissie Richard, Ronnie Stone, John Vallejos, and Matt Vitello. A feature of the program will be the lip sync entries from each class for grades 9 –12.

On Friday evening there is a parade featuring the homecoming royalty, class banners, cheerleaders, the sports teams, and coaches. The parade will leave the Orange Town Hall at 5:15 p.m. Prior to the beginning of the football game, the homecoming royalty will be presented to the crowd. At 7:00 p.m. the Mahar Senators will play the Greenfield High School football team. During halftime, parents of the varsity football team and of the cheering squad will be recognized by the Key Club. Parents of seniors will receive pictures, and parents of underclassmen will receive certificates of appreciation.

On Saturday morning, October 18, the varsity volleyball, soccer, and field hockey teams will play alumni teams beginning at 9:00 a.m. The field hockey game will begin at 9:00 a.m., the girls soccer team and the volleyball teams will play at 10:30 a.m., and the boys soccer team will play at noon. Prior to all these games, the parents of senior players will be presented with a picture of their son or daughter by the Mahar Key Club. Parents of underclassmen will receive certificates. The Key Club will also sell coffee, hot chocolate, and doughnuts in the gym lobby.

The homecoming dance featuring DJ Tina Riddell will be on Saturday night, October 18. A highlight of the dance will be the presentation of awards for class banners and the lip sync competition. The crowning of the homecoming royalty will be at 9:15 p.m.

Homecoming weekend is organized by the Mahar Key Club as part of its school and community service program.
